Understanding Proposals on Publicist's HIRE Platform
What Proposals Are, How They're Used, and What Happens When You Accept or Decline Them
Overview for Hire Users:
What is a Proposal? A proposal on Publicist’s HIRE platform is how talent indicates their interest in a job. Each proposal includes:
Proposed Rate:
The rate the talent proposes for the job.
Time Estimate:
An approximation of how long they believe they can complete the job.
Summary:
A summary of why they believe they’d be a good fit for the role.
Additional Materials:
Links to their website or portfolio and any files they’d like to attach.
Where Proposals Are Received: Proposals are received in the Messages section. Notifications will appear next to messages in the navigation bar and on the job post they are related to. To view them, simply click into Messages.
Actions You Can Take When Receiving a Proposal:
Accept:
Outcome:
Accepted proposals open a conversation in Messages between the hiring team and the candidate. This allows both parties to discuss and determine if it’s the right fit.
Next Steps:
In the message, you can schedule calls to interview the candidate, request changes to the proposal, and negotiate the rate, duration, and other details.
Decline:
Outcome:
Declined proposals do not initiate a conversation and the candidate is notified of the decline. This action can be undone if needed.
Do Nothing:
Outcome:
If no action is taken, the proposal will automatically be declined in 14 days. We recommend responding to ensure a positive experience for all users on the platform. Non-responsive users may receive nudges from the system or from our team.
What Happens When You Take Action:
Accepted Proposals: Open a message thread with the candidate, allowing for further communication. Here you can:
Schedule interviews
Request modifications to the proposal
Negotiate terms such as rate and duration
Declined Proposals:
Notify the candidate of the decline and close the proposal. This action can be undone if necessary.
Next Steps: Evaluate the candidate through the conversation. If they are a good fit, you can extend an offer and hire the candidate directly from the Messages section.
By understanding and effectively managing proposals, you can streamline your hiring process and ensure you find the best talent for your needs.
